Stanislav F. Martych (Shelbi)

Martych Stanislav Fedorovych was born on November 6, 1998, in the village of Velyka Kyriivka, Vinnytsia region. After school, he entered the cadet corps of the Lviv Military Lyceum named after the Heroes of Kruty. Three years later, he became a cadet at the Odesa Military Academy, where he obtained the profession of a paratrooper. After graduating in 2019, the young officer joined the ranks of the airborne assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 95th separate airborne assault brigade. He carried out combat missions in the Joint Forces Operation, in particular, he defended the city of Sievierodonetsk in Luhansk region. For exemplary service in May 2020, he was awarded the medal "Defender of the Fatherland". From the first days of the full-scale invasion, Stanislav, along with his comrades-in-arms, continued to defend Ukraine from the enemy. He held the position of deputy commander, instructor for airborne training. He was killed on May 11, 2022, in a battle with the occupiers near the village of Dovhenke, Izium district, Kharkiv region. He was buried in the village of Velyka Kyriivka, Vinnytsia region.
