Stanislav M. Barylo (Staryi)

Captain Stanislav Barylo (call sign Old) was killed on January 20, 2023 in a hospital in Dnipro. Two days earlier, he came under enemy fire while on an observation post near the town of Soledar in the Donetsk region. The officer was 56 years old. Stanislav was born in the village of Hrushyne, Poltava region. He graduated from the Kyiv Agricultural Academy (now the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine), obtaining a degree in electrical engineering. For four convocations, he was the head of the village council in his native Hrushyne. Horticulture was his favorite occupation. On February 25, 2022, the man was drafted into the ranks of the defenders. Stanislav joined the 116th separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of commander of the rifle company of the 147th battalion. "Dad was the best man, father and grandfather. He was always our support and help. He was respected and honored in the community. He always helped the people of the village in difficult situations," said the deceased's daughter Yaroslava Tur. Stanislav was buried in his native village. The hero left behind his wife Oksana, son Eduard, daughter Yaroslava, grandchildren Andrii and Kyrylo, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, and other relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms. The officer was posthumously awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, 3rd degree.
