Stanislav V. Kurbatov (Advokat)

Born on June 30, 1980, in the city of Izium, Kharkiv region. Graduated from secondary school No. 2 in the city of Izium. Served mandatory military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After the army, he graduated from the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs (city of Kharkiv). Worked in the internal affairs bodies of Ukraine. Was a district police inspector of the Kharkiv district department of the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region, serving the village of Kholy in the Kharkiv district of Kharkiv region. After leaving the police, he engaged in legal activities. In May 2017, he joined the military service under contract in the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine. Served as a driver-paramedic of the 1st anti-tank platoon of the fire support platoon of the special purpose battalion "Donbas" of the 15th separate regiment of the Eastern operational-territorial association of the National Guard of Ukraine (military unit 3035, city of Sloviansk, Donetsk region). Since 2017, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. Served at checkpoints, provided cover for positions, ensured the transportation of the wounded, and repeatedly acted on the line of contact. Call sign "Lawyer." On November 1, 2017, a reconnaissance group commanded by Major Serhiy Syrotenko, which included Senior Soldier Stanislav Kurbatov, was carrying out a service-combat mission in the area of the city of Marinka, Donetsk region, moving deep into the occupied territory. Around 11:30, while overcoming mine-explosive barriers, an anti-personnel mine detonated. As a result of the explosion, Major Serhiy Syrotenko was killed on the spot, and Senior Soldier Stanislav Kurbatov sustained severe mine-explosive injuries and multiple shrapnel wounds. In serious condition, the National Guardsman was evacuated to the military medical hospital in the city of Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, where he underwent surgery. After the operation, Senior Soldier Stanislav Kurbatov was airlifted to the military mobile hospital No. 61 in the city of Mariupol, Donetsk region. Doctors fought for the National Guardsman's life, but their efforts proved futile. On November 2, 2017, Stanislav Kurbatov died during resuscitation efforts. On November 7, 2017, he was buried in the cemetery of the city of Izium, Kharkiv region.
