- Senior Sergeant Stepan Yatsyshyn was killed on May 30, 2022, near the city of Hirske in Luhansk region. While performing his duties, he received fatal injuries as a result of a direct hit of a rocket into the command post of the Ukrainian military. On May 13, the defender turned 51 years old. Stepan was born in the village of Chemeryntsi, Lviv region. He graduated from Peremyshlyany Secondary School No. 1. Later, he continued his studies at Lviv Professional and Technical School No. 1, where he mastered the profession of a driver. He served in the army. He lived with his family in Lviv. From 1991, he worked as a driver at the enterprise Lviv Electromechanical Plant. He was a participant in the ATO in Donbass. During the full-scale war, the man again decided to defend his country from the occupiers. He fought in the ranks of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo. He was the commander of the anti-aircraft artillery platoon. He defended Luhansk region. This was the best dad one could only dream of. Kind, sincere, sensitive, good. He always stood on the path of truth, did not tolerate lies. He helped everyone who asked for help. The family was always in the first place. He worked day and night, not putting his hands down. He tried to give the children everything he didn't have. Cheerful, always smiling, good son, faithful friend, beloved husband, best dad. From the first days of the war, he unhesitatingly joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. A patriot of his land, his daughter Yulia said. The warrior was buried in the village of Pohoriltsi, Lviv region.
