- Publications- Born on January 9, 1994, in the city of Brody, Lviv region. In 2009, he graduated from the 9th grade of Brody Secondary School No. 2, and in 2013 - from Brody Pedagogical College named after Markiyan Shashkevych with a degree in "Physical Education." Since 2013, he served in the military under contract in the 80th Separate Airborne Brigade of the Red Banner Order of the Red Star of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0284, Lviv). From April 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On August 26, 2014, soldier Hunkо was killed by a sniper's bullet during a battle near the village of Khyryashuvate in the Krasnodon (now Sorokyne) district of Luhansk region. On September 30, 2014, he was buried in the cemetery of the city of Brody. On November 27, 2014, a memorial plaque was unveiled in the city of Brody on the facade of the Brody Pedagogical College named after Markiyan Shashkevych (Kotsyubynskyi Street, 4), where Stepan Hunkо studied.Book of Remembrance for Ukraine - Ukrainian memorial
