Sviatoslav Yu. Svystun (Sviat)

Volunteer of the "Carpathian Sich" battalion, Svyatoslav Svytsun, was killed in action in front of his father's eyes on April 10, 2022, near Izyum. Six more fighters in the same battle. Svyatoslav went to defend the country with the start of the full-scale war. Together with him, his older brother Andriy and father Yuriy joined the ranks of the ZSU. Svyatoslav's first battle took place in his native Kyiv, near the "Brest-Litovsk" metro station. Then the man took part in battles on the Brovarsky and Irpin directions. When the enemy was driven away from Kyiv, he went to Kharkiv region. The fighters went to the Izyum direction, went to clear the village and ran into an enemy ambush. The group was opposed by 15 Russian tanks, 8 BMPs, mortars, and about 50 units of Russian personnel. During the shelling, Svyatoslav saw a wounded comrade. He was lying and screaming, asking for help. He was behind the bushes, which could not be crawled over, so Svyatoslav had to stand up. At that moment, a tank shell exploded next to him. His father Yuriy saw this and thought that Svyatoslav had lain down to hide from the shots. But, unfortunately, he , as did the wounded fighter. In that battle, Svyatoslav's father lost not only his son, but also his hand. The surviving guys evacuated in the only car that remained operational. Svyatoslav Svytsun was buried at the Berkovetsky cemetery in Kyiv. The hero left behind his parents, brother, and son.
