Taras M. Kava (Snikers)

Soldier Taras Kava (call sign Snickers) was killed on June 4, 2023, while performing a combat mission on the outskirts of the village of Ivanivske in the Donetsk region. The life of the 40-year-old warrior was cut short due to shrapnel wounds. Taras was from the village of Chesniky in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. He obtained the profession of tractor driver-mechanic at the Rohatyn Vocational School No. 35. He worked in this specialty in the agricultural production cooperative named after Mykhailo Hrushevsky and also went to work abroad. In his free time, he loved to go hunting. The man joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine on his birthday, March 14, 2022. He served in the 711th Brigade of Protection. He was a grenadier. At the end of February 2023, he was sent to the Bakhmut direction as part of a assault unit. There he received a concussion and shrapnel wounds. He was hospitalized, but returned to the front again. "My father was a very good person, kind, loving, and caring," wrote his son Yaroslav Kava. The soldier was buried in his native village. Taras left behind a son and a daughter. The fighter was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
