Taras M. Rusal

56-year-old Taras Rusal was killed on May 3, 2024 near the village of Spirne in the Donetsk region. While carrying out a combat mission, he received fatal injuries as a result of enemy artillery shelling. Taras was from the village of Kniazivske, Ivano-Frankivsk region. After graduating from the local 8-year school, he entered the Broshnyv Vocational School, where he obtained the profession of a carpenter. He loved football, was the goalkeeper of the team, and engaged in combat sambo. He went to work for earnings. But for the most part of his life, he worked at a sawmill in his native village. He went to serve on February 25, 2022. He joined the ranks of the 10th separate mountain assault brigade "Edelweiss". He was a rifleman of the escort squad of the protection platoon of the fuel and lubricants supply company of the 108th battalion. "Maksymovych was always kind, supportive, came to the aid of his relatives, and always smiled," said his relative Andrii Hrytsuniak.Taras was buried in his native village next to his parents. The warrior left behind a daughter Marina, son Maksym, and grandchildren Denis and Daryna.
