Taras P. Koltun

Soldier Taras Koltun was killed on September 14, 2023 while performing his duties near the village of Yurkivka in the Zaporizhzhia region. He would have turned 44 years old on October 21. Taras was born and lived in the village of Polonychі in the Lviv region. He studied at a rural school. Then he graduated from Lviv Vocational School No. 26, where he obtained the profession of a car mechanic. He worked at the Lviv confectionery factory "Svitoch". He loved to sing, and especially to carol during the Christmas holidays. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man fought for his country in the ranks of the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a machine gunner. He carried out combat missions in the Kherson, Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions. "Taras was a beloved husband, caring father, loving son and good friend. He was kind, sensitive, sincere, and always ready to help," his wife Olha said. The defender was buried in his native village. At home, Taras was awaited by his parents, wife, two sons, brother, relatives and friends.
