Taras V. Polikha

Soldier Taras Polikha (call sign "Hedgehog") died on November 13, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Robotyne, Zaporizhia region. He sustained fatal injuries as a result of a hit by an enemy FPV drone. The warrior is now forever 32 years old. Taras was born in the city of Chervonohrad (now Sheptytskyi) in the Lviv region. He studied at the local school No. 3, and graduated from the Chervonohrad Professional Mining and Construction Lyceum. He lived in the village of Murovane and worked as a driver at the "Stepova" mine. He dedicated his free time to his family. During the full-scale war, the man became a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and went to defend the Motherland from the Russian occupiers. He served in the 33rd Separate Mechanized Brigade, holding the position of squad commander - machine commander of the reconnaissance platoon of the reconnaissance company. "Taras was an extraordinarily kind and cheerful person, a loving husband and the best dad for his sons Matviy and Demyan. He never complained about the circumstances he was in. He always said that everything would be fine, remained smiling and sincere. This is how he remains forever in our hearts. We miss him very much," said his wife Vasylyna. The defender was buried in the village of Murovane in the Lviv region. At home, Taras was awaited by his parents, wife, and two sons.
