Taras V. Semeniuk (Tarik)

Senior soldier Taras Semenyuk (call sign Tarik) was killed on February 20, 2023 near the village of Hryanikivka in the Kharkiv region. The group of defenders under his command was returning from a mission and came under enemy mortar fire. The warrior was 22 years old. Taras was born in the village of Rudka-Kozynska, Volyn region. He graduated from the Torchyn Vocational Lyceum, where he obtained the specialty of painter-plasterer. He was engaged in sports, especially loved boxing and other martial arts. He liked to spend his free time with his family. At the age of 20, Taras went to military service under contract to the 14th separate mechanized brigade named after Prince Roman. At first, he was an artilleryman, and later he was transferred to the infantry. He took part in the Joint Forces Operation. During the full-scale invasion, Tarik continued to defend Ukraine from the Russian invaders along with his comrades-in-arms. "Tarik was a kind person throughout his life. He was always ready to help. He was energetic and cheerful. He met the war near Kyiv, where, along with his comrades-in-arms, he bravely defended the Motherland. At the age of 22, he was very brave and a real man who rushed into battle to defeat the invaders faster. He was always the first to go into battle, never lagging behind. This is an irreparable loss for the whole family," said the deceased's brother Vasyl. The defender was buried in his native village. Taras is survived by his parents, brothers, sisters and wife.
