Taras V. Skorokhod (Skoryi)

Soldier Taras Skorokhod (call sign Skoryi) was killed on December 20, 2022, in a battle with the occupiers near Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. The fighter was 27 years old. Taras was born in the village of Bazaltove, Rivne region. He stuwas killed at the Zlazenska school. He served his mandatory military service and then returned to his native village. He worked at a company that manufactures monuments. In his free time, he loved fishing. During the full-scale Russian invasion, Taras joined the ranks of the territorial defense forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 14th separate rifle battalion "Polissya". He held the position of a rifleman-assistant grenadier. "A true soldier - that's about him. He was never indifferent to his hard male work - to protect his native land. Taras was a true patriot of his country. And he gave the most precious thing for it - his own life..." - noted in the Holovynska village council. "He was always smiling and cheerful, a faithful friend and comrade who was always ready to help. And just a good person," said the deceased's fiancée Kateryna. The warrior was buried in his native village. Taras is survived by his parents, sister, brother, and fiancée.
