Biography
Karpyuk Taras Yuriyovych (callsign Tarasiy) was born on August 30, 1984. He graduated from the Faculty of Sociology and Law of the National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute". He was a civic activist, participating in various actions. He was a participant in the Revolution of Dignity. On February 18, 2014, he was wounded on the Maidan. With the beginning of the Russian armed aggression in Donbas, he immediately went to the front as a volunteer. As part of the Azov volunteer battalion, he participated in the liberation of Mariupol. In August 2014, he fought in the battles near Ilovaisk, where he was wounded. After that, he was treated for a long time. With the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, as part of the Bratstvo volunteer battalion, he participated in the battles for the liberation of Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Mykolaiv regions. He died on December 25, 2022, during the performance of a combat mission on the territory of the Russian Federation's Bryansk region, together with his comrades-in-arms. According to preliminary information, the group perished, encountering a minefield while driving. According to other information, the group died in battle. According to the GUR report, "Nepyypivo, Svyatosha, Tarasiy, and Apollon refused to surrender to Russian troops, took up a defensive position, and heroically accepted their last battle on December 25, 2022." On February 22, 2023, the Bratstvo battalion reported the return to Ukraine of the bodies of four fighters who had died on enemy territory. On March 7, 2023, a funeral service for the fallen was held in the St. Michael's Golden-Domed Cathedral in Kyiv, followed by a farewell ceremony on Independence Square. He was buried in the Alley of Glory at the Lukyanivske Cemetery in Kyiv.Military service
