Vadym A. Kabanets (Uhriumyi)

Junior Sergeant Vadym Kabanets (call sign Ugryumyi) was killed on May 19, 2023 while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Makiivka in the Luhansk region. The life of the warrior was cut short by a bullet from an enemy sniper. The defender was 47 years old. Vadym was born in the village of Malokaterynivka, Zaporizhia region. After school, he mastered the profession of a shoemaker at a vocational school. In civilian life, he worked as a roofer at the municipal enterprise "Vodokanal" in the city of Zaporizhia. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man without hesitation went to defend his relatives and home from the occupiers. He joined the ranks of the 6th separate rifle battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During his service, he was awarded the "Badge of Honor" and a certificate "For special merits in the defense of the Motherland". Modest, kind, the best son, husband, and father. He loved life very much. Colleagues considered him the best worker with golden hands and a master of his craft, - said the wife of the fallen Svitlana. The defender was buried in his native village. Vadym is survived by his mother, wife and daughter.
