Vadym A. Lalazarian (Ara)

Sergeant Vadym Lalazarian (call sign Ara) was killed on August 12, 2023 in the Zaporizhzhia hospital from severe injuries sustained in combat near the village of Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region. The following month, on September 20, the defender would have turned 27 years old. Vadym was born in the village of Bilozerka, Ternopil region. He received a secondary education. He lived in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. He worked in construction in Ukraine and abroad. He was passionate about football since childhood. He dreamed of his own family and a cozy home. During the full-scale war, in August 2022, the man joined the ranks of the airborne assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 46th Separate Airmobile Brigade. He was a squad commander. He took part in the liberation of the Kherson region and in the battles for the city of Soledar in the Donetsk region, and then went to defend the Zaporizhzhia direction. He was awarded the "Path of Honor" distinction. "Vadym was a very honest and fair person, he volunteered for the war... We were together for 7 months. In our acquaintance, he showed the initiative, but he did not like me at first. But he said the phrase: 'You will marry me one day.' After a while, we started dating, he was very polite and always smiling. He came to visit me, we walked, spent time, everything was very good... On April 13, 2023, he proposed to me. When he was studying to become a sergeant in Zhytomyr, he persuaded the authorities to let him go to the Donetsk region to propose. We planned the wedding for October 13, 2023. On August 5, he came to me for the day. Then I took him to where they lived with the brigade, we held each other's hands all the way and did not let go. Arriving at the destination, I hugged him, he got out of the car and smiled. I remember how he was walking..." - shared the memories of his fiancée Anastasia. In the evening of August 6, Vadym went on another combat mission near the village of Robotyne. He wrote to his beloved: "Bunny, everything will be super, darling, I swear. I love you very much." And already on August 9, he began to say goodbye: "Sunshine, you will forgive me if I go to heaven in one day, it's hard for us here, the exit is very difficult. Forgive me, I will always come to you." Anastasia called him, calmed him down and said that everything would be fine. On the morning of August 11, Vadym's comrade-in-arms informed that Ara was in the hospital. The girl did not believe it, thought it was a joke. She immediately called her beloved, was sure that he would pick up the phone. However, no one answered. Anastasia continued to send Vadym messages, hoping that he would get in touch. And on August 12, Ara's commander reported that he was no longer there... Since then, the girl often sees her beloved in her dreams. The paratrooper was buried in the village of Krychka, Ivano-Frankivsk region. Vadym is survived by his parents, fiancée, relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms.
