- Sergeant Vadim Korostyuk (call sign Beard) tragically died in a car accident along with his wife, son, and daughter while returning from vacation to his comrades at the front. His family was supposed to see him off to the train, but they all perished together. This happened on July 16, 2022. On August 9, the soldier would have turned 45 years old. Vadim was from the village of Mlynky in the Chernivtsi region. He studied at the Polyana Secondary School. He then graduated from the Stavchany Vocational and Technical School. He worked in a collective farm, at "Ukrtelecom," and at a local brick factory. His last place of work was the private trade complex "Mafes." He loved to cook. In 1999, the man married his beloved Vitalina. The couple lived in the village of Klischkivtsi in the Chernivtsi region. A year later, their son Roman was born, and three years later, their daughter Yana. The children finished the local school and were building plans for the future. When the full-scale war began in early March 2022, Vadim volunteered to go to the front for the peaceful life of his family. He served in the 115th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He fought in Luhansk region. He received his call sign because he promised to shave after the victory. "The Korostyuk family was close-knit and happy. The parents dreamed of raising their children, marrying them off, and waiting for grandchildren. When the war took its dark steps onto Ukrainian soil, Vadim Oleksandrovych was one of the first, as a true patriot, to take up arms. At home were his wife Vitalina Yevhenivna, son Roman, and daughter Yana, who actively participated in the volunteer movement. Roman became a reliable support for his mother and sister. They all prayed to God for the war to end soon, for their father and husband to return alive and healthy... Long and terrifying months, scorched by the fires of Grad missiles, Vadim Oleksandrovych awaited a meeting with his dearest ones. And then it came... He arrived, avoiding enemy bullets and death. He flew to his loved ones on wings. And none of them knew, could even imagine, how this vacation would turn out, what awaited their wonderful and close family. After spending a few days at home, Vadim Oleksandrovych hurried back to his comrades. The call of the heart, military duty beckoned him to battle. He rushed to stop the enemy as quickly as possible, to drive them from his native land, so that life for his children would be bright and happy... But the road turned into Eternity, taking an entire family with it," the Klischkivtsi community shared. The Korostyuk family was buried in the village of Mlynky. Vadim is survived by his parents.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
