Vadym O. Machacha

26-year-old soldier Vadim Machacha died on June 12, 2023, in a hospital from injuries sustained while performing a combat mission near the village of Pokrovskoye in the Donetsk region. Vadim was born in the village of Galaybine, Chernihiv region. In 2011, he graduated from the Galaybine comprehensive school of I-II degrees. The same year, he entered the Borznyansky State Agricultural Technical School. In 2017, he graduated from the Sumy National Agrarian University with a degree in Agronomy. In parallel with distance learning, he began working in Kyiv as a gardener and landscaper. At the end of 2021, he took the position of manager in a garden store. From the first days of the full-scale invasion, Vadim, along with his twin brother, went to defend the Motherland as a volunteer. Both served in the 58th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Hetman Ivan Vyhovsky. "Vadim was kind, cheerful, sensitive, caring, brave, fearless, sincere, and genuine," his sister Maria said. He was buried in his native village. Vadim is survived by his parents, brother, and sister. Posthumously, the fighter was awarded the Order "For Courage" of the III degree.
