Vadym P. Kunytskyi (Matematyk)

Soldier Vadim Kunitsky (call sign Mathematic) was killed on September 14, 2022, in a battle with the occupiers near the village of Sukhy Stavok in the Kherson region. The defender was 30 years old. Vadim was born in the village of Drevynia in the Volyn region. He lived in Kyiv. He graduated from the National Pedagogical University named after Mykhailo Dragomanov. From 2013 to 2017, he worked as a mathematics teacher, then taught computer science at secondary school No. 254 in Kyiv. He obtained a second higher education in the specialty "Educational Measurements" and held the qualification of a head of an institution for assessing the quality of education. In his free time, he created wooden crafts and embroidered pictures with beads. He loved riding his bicycle. For a certain period, he was engaged in pigeon breeding. During the full-scale war, in July 2022, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He became a fighter in the 46th separate airborne brigade and took the position of a sniper shooter. "Vadim was my one and only love, the dearest man, and the best dad for our daughter, a bright, kind person with an open heart and unwavering faith in life. He was a true patriot of his country, who did not hesitate to defend it," said the wife of the fallen, Oksana. "He was a sincere and incredibly kind person. For me, he was an example. He always taught us to appreciate what we have. Throughout his life, he radiated optimism. In our family, Vadim always showed that there is no goal that cannot be achieved and proved to us that together we are strong. He showed everyone that all problems can be solved quickly and easily. I loved, love, and will love my dear brother," added Bohdan Kunitsky. Vadim was buried in his native village in Volyn. He is survived by his parents, brothers, wife, and 5-year-old daughter. According to the order of the mayor of Kyiv, Vadim Kunitsky was posthumously awarded the medal "Honor. Glory. State."
