Vadym V. Korolskyi (Korol)

Paratrooper Vadym Korolskyi (call sign King) was killed on September 9, 2023, in a hospital in Kyiv. On August 13, while carrying out a combat mission in the area of the village of Mala Tokmachka, Zaporizhzhia region, he sustained severe injuries during enemy artillery shelling. Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, and Kyiv doctors fought for the warrior's life until the very end. On August 23, he turned 38 years old. Vadym was born in the village of Kruti Horby, Kyiv region. He received secondary education at the local school. In civilian life, he worked as a driver and engaged in cargo transportation. He planned to start a family and create a cozy home, but did not have the chance. On January 10, 2023, the man was mobilized into the airborne assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in military unit A2582, holding the position of a grenade launcher. "I am proud of him. He was responsible, kind, gentle, and courageous," said the fighter's fiancée, Emma. The defender was buried in his native village. Vadym is survived by his mother, brothers, sisters, and fiancée. Posthumously, soldier Vadym Korolskyi was awarded the Order of Courage, 3rd degree.
