Vadym V. Kostivskyi (Student)

42-year-old soldier Vadym Kostivskyi (call sign Student) was killed on November 20, 2022 near the settlement of Kurdiumivka in the Donetsk region. While performing his duties, he received fatal injuries during enemy shelling. Vadym was born in the village of Buzivka, Cherkasy region. He stuwas killed at Konelska school. Later, he obtained a higher education at the Bila Tserkva National Agrarian University. He lived with his family in the village of Severynivka, Kyiv region. He worked as a bus driver and had his own business - repairing cars. In his free time, he loved fishing and was also a hunter. On February 28, 2022, the man voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He became a fighter of the 30th separate mechanized brigade named after Prince Kostiantyn Ostrozkyi. He held the position of driver of the anti-tank platoon. Together with his comrades-in-arms, he defended the Motherland in the Donetsk (Toretsk, Bakhmut) and Kharkiv (Barvinkove, Izium) directions. "My Vadik was a true patriot. In the first days of the war, he went to defend Ukraine without hesitation. Vadym was a kind and sincere person, always with a smile on his face. The best man in the world, a father, a son, a brother. He loved animals very much, he had three dogs. Many, many words can be said about him. He loved life and loved to live, create, help. He was the mainstay and support for the whole family," said the wife of the fallen defender. The defender was buried in the village of Severynivka, Kyiv region. Vadym is survived by his wife Tetiana, sons Maksym and Bohdan, daughter Sofiia, brother Oleksandr, as well as other relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms.
