Vadym V. Luhanskyi (Maestro)

Soldier Vadym Luhanskyi (call sign Maestro) was killed on May 12, 2023 near the settlement of Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region. While carrying out a combat mission, he received fatal shrapnel wounds. The defender was 32 years old. Vadym was born in the settlement of Mezhova, Dnipropetrovsk region. He graduated from Sloviansk State Pedagogical University. He worked as a labor training teacher, taught the discipline "Defense of the Fatherland", and was a class teacher. He played football and volleyball. He was interested in history. With the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, the man joined the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine. He served in the 1st Presidential Brigade of Operational Designation named after Hetman Petro Doroshenko. He was a machine gunner. "A true patriot, he volunteered from the first days to defend the country. Always positive, he was the soul of the team. The best friend who could always be relied upon. The only son in the family. His father is also defending Ukraine at the moment," the deceased's friends said. The national guardsman was buried in the village of Novopavlivka, Dnipropetrovsk region. Vadym is survived by his mother Natalia Ivanivna, father Vasyl Viktorovych, relatives, friends, and comrades-in-arms.
