- Born on March 13, 1975, in the city of Tomsk (Russian Federation). Russian. Later, he moved with his family to the city of Kremenchuk in the Poltava region. He graduated from secondary school No. 5 (now Gymnasium No. 5 named after T.G. Shevchenko) in Kremenchuk, then from vocational technical school No. 22 in Kremenchuk with a specialty in "cook." He served his mandatory military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After the army, he returned to Kremenchuk. He worked at the private enterprise "Production and Trade Company 'Lukas'" (Kremenchuk), as a dispatcher for the gas service, and as a contractor in a construction company. He studied part-time at a higher educational institution with a specialty in "psychology." On August 6, 2014, he was mobilized as a volunteer into the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the Kremenchuk Combined Military Commissariat of the Poltava region. He served as a senior driver of the 5th company of the 92nd separate mechanized brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0501, village of Kluhino-Bashkyrivka, Chuhuiv city council, Kharkiv region). He participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On May 16, 2015, a Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group of 14 individuals stealthily approached the stronghold "Facade" near the city of Shchastia in the Novoaidar district of Luhansk region. Junior Sergeant Pugachov was the first to detect the saboteurs at close range. The enemy opened fire on the Ukrainian soldier. Junior Sergeant Pugachov received 6 gunshot wounds from a Russian-made silent shooting automatic weapon AS "Val," from which he died. However, the Ukrainian serviceman managed to shout, thereby warning his comrades about the enemy's attack. At the cost of his own life, Junior Sergeant Pugachov saved other soldiers who were at the stronghold. A battle ensued between the Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group and the servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, resulting in the enemy's attack being repelled. Ukrainian soldiers captured two wounded servicemen of the 3rd separate guards special purpose brigade of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation - the commander of the special purpose group, Captain Yevgeny Yerofeyev, and the deputy commander of the special purpose group, Sergeant Alexander Aleksandrov. On May 19, 2015, he was buried in the Sector of Fallen Heroes of the Anti-Terrorist Operation at the Svyshtov Cemetery in Kremenchuk.Book of Remembrance for Ukraine - Ukrainian memorial
