Vadym V. Sokolov (Sokil)

Vadim Sokolov, a scout, was killed on May 12, 2023, in the area of Ivanivske village in the Donetsk region. The fighter went on a combat mission but did not return alive. He was forever 39 years old. Vadim was born in the village of Ridne, Kharkiv region. He lived in the city of Lyubotyn. He obtained the profession of a tractor driver in a vocational school. He worked as a builder, and his team was engaged in the construction of houses. He was passionate about motorcycles and loved to fish with his sons. During the full-scale war, in September 2022, the man was mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 24th separate assault battalion "Aydar" of the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade. He was in the reconnaissance unit. "My husband was brave, kind, gentle, and always helped everyone. Until February 24, he was in Germany, went to work, because he wanted to earn a little money to buy a house. But on February 25, he returned home... He loved children very much. He was looking forward to the 14th birthday of his eldest son on May 28, but did not live to see it," said the wife of the fallen Irina. The defender was buried in the Alley of Glory of the cemetery in the city of Lyubotyn, Kharkiv region. At home, Vadim was awaited by his mother, wife, and two sons.
