Valentyn L. Kucher (Dok)

Combat medic Valentyn Kucher (call sign Doc) was killed on December 20, 2022, while performing a combat mission near the settlement of Ozaryanivka in the Donetsk region. He was 44 years old. Valentyn was born in the village of Stepanivka, Khmilnytskyi region. He graduated from the Rokytne Medical School. He served in the military. For 17 years, he worked as an X-ray laboratory assistant at the Central City Hospital in Rivne. But later, his love for travel grew into a change of profession, and in 2018 the man became a long-distance truck driver. He lived with his family in the village of Kolodentsia in the Rivne region. During the full-scale Russian invasion, Valentyn joined the ranks of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign. He was a combat medic, saving his comrades-in-arms at the front. "He was always cheerful, lively, calm, and balanced. He loved life and was in a hurry to live. Caring, never refused, always ready to help. He loved geography, various documentary and scientific programs about the world and natural phenomena. He was always optimistic. He adored morning coffee and travel. He loved animals very much, especially his cat Baron. I'm proud that I'm your wife," his wife said. Sergeant Valentyn Kucher was buried in the village of Kolodentsia, Rivne region. Valentyn is survived by his mother, wife, son, and daughter.
