- 21-year-old Sergeant Valentyn Fedorovych (call sign "Paraguay") died on March 22, 2022, during the defense of Mariupol, Donetsk region. That day, the fighter climbed to an observation post, where a Russian guided aerial bomb hit. Valentyn was born in Khmilnytskyi. After finishing school, he entered the Khmilnytskyi University of Management and Law. In 2018, he completed a training course for junior commanders at the Aksion and Khoma School of Junior Commanders. In 2019, he completed a course for young fighters in the separate special forces unit "Azov", transferred to distance learning, and went to defend Ukraine. The warrior's path began as a senior gunner. During the full-scale war, he defended the country as part of the separate special forces unit of the National Guard of Ukraine "Azov", and was the commander of a mortar crew. "Valentyn had a clear patriotic position from childhood. He was not yet 18 years old, but he was already actively involved in the political life of the Khmilnytskyi territorial community as a member of the 'National Corps' and the NGO 'Sokil'. He loved football and was a fan of the Khmilnytskyi club 'Podillya'. He loved to read. Valentyn was kind - to people, to animals, to everything around him. I want and will talk about him everywhere possible, because he was still so young, he could have realized so many plans, thoughts, and ideas," said Khrystyna Korniiets, a close friend and classmate of the deceased. The defender was buried on November 27, 2024, in the Alley of Glory in Khmilnytskyi. The warrior is survived by his parents. Valentyn was their only son. Sergeant Valentyn Fedorovych was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage, 3rd degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
