- Soldier Valentyn Lukianchuk was killed on February 3, 2023 near the city of Dobropillia in the Donetsk region. While performing his duties, he was involved in a car accident and suffered fatal injuries. He would have turned 26 years old in March. Valentyn was born in the village of Prypetn, Khmilnytskyi region. He graduated from the Ukrainian State University named after Mykhailo Drahomanov and obtained a degree in mathematics and computer science. He served his mandatory military service. He worked at the Shepetivka Sugar Plant. He was a creative person and wrote poems. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man was defending his country in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade. He held the position of electrician-motorist of the radio platoon of the communication center of the rear command post of the field communication node. His comrades-in-arms said he was such a kind, sincere and gentle person that instead of a call sign, they simply called him Valik. "My brother had a big heart, he was extremely kind, soft, compassionate, sincere and fair. Valik grew up without a mother. From the age of 11, his grandmother was his guardian. And his father was bedridden for the last 18 years. He was killed less than a year after Valik's death," said his cousin Anastasia Lukianchuk. The soldier was buried in his native village.
