- 28-year-old senior soldier Valentyn Aksionov (call sign Dzhoni) was killed on January 27, 2023 near the city of Huliaipole in the Zaporizhia region. While carrying out a combat mission, the soldier was blown up by an enemy anti-tank mine. Valentyn was born in the village of Katsmativ, Vinnytsia region. He graduated from the Fastiv Lyceum and obtained the profession of a carpenter. He worked as an electrician and driver in Kyiv on construction sites. In 2017-2021, he served in the 79th Separate Airmobile Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Since 2020, he lived in the Mykolaiv region. He was passionate about cars and making wooden products. He loved fishing. On the first day of the full-scale war, the man joined the Snihuriv security company in the Mykolaiv region. From May, he defended Ukraine in the ranks of the 56th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of a machine gun section commander. "We met in 2019 in the military unit. He was a very good person, always helped friends and relatives. He loved the military profession. Although he resigned from the Armed Forces, on February 24, 2022, he could not stay at home. A son, a little over a year old, was left without a father. Valentyn loved him very much," said the wife of the deceased, Anzhela. Valentyn was buried in the village of Kobzartsi in the Mykolaiv region.
