Valentyn V. Korsun (Syvyi)

Soldier Valentyn Korsun (call sign Sivyi) was killed on December 7, 2023, while performing a combat mission near the village of Synkivka in the Kharkiv region. The warrior was 52 years old. Valentyn was born in the city of Illintsi, Vinnytsia region. He graduated from Vocational School No. 11 in Vinnytsia, where he obtained the profession of a turner. He worked at the Illinetsk furniture factory, then at Ukrtelecom and the Lyusdorf dairy plant. Recently, he held the position of a warehouse worker in the "Pan Ekonom" supermarket. He lived in the village of Borysivka in the Vinnytsia region. During the full-scale invasion, he joined the ranks of the 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Koshovy Otaman Kost Hordiienko. He was a rifleman - a grenade launcher assistant of the 2nd mechanized platoon of the 1st mechanized company. "Valentyn Volodymyrovych fought for the peaceful sky for all of us, a happy future for our children, independence and freedom for his native land... A faithful son of his country, a brave warrior," the Illinetsk City Territorial Community wrote. Valentyn was buried in the village of Borysivka. The defender left behind a wife, son, daughter, brother, and other relatives.
