Valentyn V. Pohribnyi (Akula)

Soldier Valentyn Pohribnyi (call sign Shark) was killed on December 3, 2022 during a mortar attack near Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. The warrior was 24 years old. Valentyn was born in the city of Kropyvnytskyi. He obtained the profession of a welder at a vocational school. He worked in his specialty. He loved to spend his free time with friends and his beloved girlfriend. Together they watched movies and planned their future. The man adored children and dreamed of having his own. He is remembered as a kind and sincere person. From the first days of the full-scale war, Valentyn defended Ukraine as part of the 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Koshovy Otaman Kostya Hordiyenko. "The last time he was with me, he hugged me tightly. He said he would never let me go. And everything will be fine, because we have to create a family under a peaceful sky. He proposed to me, Valik was the happiest then, and I didn't even know that we were seeing each other for the last time," said the deceased's beloved. The warrior was buried in the Alley of Honorable Burials of the Far Eastern Cemetery in his hometown. Valentyn is survived by his parents, brother, aunt, and beloved girlfriend.
