Valentyn V. Vasylkovskyi (Vasal)

40-year-old junior sergeant Valentyn Vasylkovskyi (call sign Vasal) died on November 23, 2023 near the village of Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region. The warrior sustained fatal shrapnel wounds as a result of a drone strike. Valentyn was born in the village of Vyshniv, Volyn region. He lived with his family in the village of Zoriane. He obtained a secondary specialized education as a painter, plasterer, and tiler. He worked at an enterprise in his specialty, and also went abroad for seasonal work. He was passionate about playing the guitar. During the full-scale war, the man fought in the ranks of the 71st separate Airborne Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a senior combat medic. He was awarded the medal "For Service and Valor" of the III degree, a diploma for diligence, exemplary performance of official duties, courage, high professional skills, and on the occasion of the Day of the Sergeant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. "I would never have even thought that I would lose such a dear person, my daddy, not sometime in 50 years, but at 16. Dad was the best person in my life. He taught me a lot, he was my greatest support. He was one of those dads to be proud of, because he devoted his free time to me. He did everything to make me know that I have a dad, a pillar and support. I am proud of him and, despite everything, I will not give up, I will continue to fight, do something and not give up. I'm sure Dad is proud of me even in heaven. But I still miss him very much and I miss him a lot," shared the daughter of the fallen Dasha. "My beloved husband, my soul, my support and support, a loving father," said his wife Olha. The defender was buried in the village of Zabrody in Volyn. Valentyn is survived by his wife, two daughters, stepfather, sister and brother.
