- Major Valentyn Lunkovskyi was killed on May 22, 2022, during the performance of a combat mission near the village of Dolyna in the Donetsk region. The officer was forever 28 years old. Valentyn was born in the urban-type settlement of Volodymyrets in the Rivne region. He stu at the local school and vocational school No. 29. Later, he chose a military career. In 2012, he entered the Faculty of Airborne Troops and Intelligence of the Petro Sahaidachny National Army Academy, and four years later, he graduated as a tactical-level officer. In his free time, he engaged in sports, including powerlifting, boxing, football, crossfit, and swimming. He loved fishing. Since 2016, he has served in the ranks of the 79th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade. In 2019, he was transferred to the 95th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade, where he held the position of deputy commander of the 2nd battalion. The military man was a parachute jump instructor, with over 300 jumps. In 2022, the officer was selected for the SBU "Alpha" special unit in Kyiv. However, on February 24, a full-scale war began. The defender continued to protect Ukraine from the occupiers in the ranks of the airborne assault troops. Posthumously, Major Valentyn Lunkovskyi was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, 3rd degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
