Valerii A. Demenev (Demon)

Sergeant Valerii Demenev (call sign "Demon) was killed on June 24, 2023, in the area of the village of Lyman Pershyi, Kharkiv region. While performing a combat mission, the soldier received a fatal explosive injury. The defender was 27 years old. Valerii was born in the village of Matusiv, Cherkasy region. He lived in the village of Maryanovka. In 2011, he graduated from the Maryanovka secondary school. He later studied at the Kyiv Professional Energy Lyceum, where he obtained the qualification of painter and plasterer. He worked as a loader. In his free time, he loved sports, played football, and went to boxing. During the full-scale invasion, the man joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend his native country from the enemy. He served in military unit A7104. "Valerii was responsible, caring, cheerful, and never left his friends in trouble," said the deceased's sister, Olha. The defender was buried in the village of Maryanovka, Cherkasy region. Valerii is survived by his parents, sister, and brother.
