Valerii M. Chychanovskyi

44-year-old Junior Sergeant Valeriy Chychanovskyi was killed on February 19, 2023 near the village of Krasne Pershe in the Kharkiv region. While carrying out a combat mission, he sustained a fatal injury during enemy shelling. Valeriy was born in the village of Severynivka, Kyiv region. He graduated from the local secondary school. In peacetime, he worked as a driver. In 2015, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) in Donbas as part of the 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Later, he returned to civilian life and worked at the Olshanytsia granite quarry. With the start of the full-scale Russian invasion in March 2022, the man again took up the defense of his country against the enemy. He served in military unit A4604 of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a medical orderly driver. He participated in the defense of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region, and later went to the Kharkiv region. He repeatedly rescued wounded comrades. According to his relatives, Valeriy evacuated 74 servicemen from the battlefield and saved their lives. "Valeriy was a loving husband and father. A patriot of Ukraine. We have lost the most precious thing in life. I - a loving, caring, beloved husband. The daughter was left without a father's care and guidance. Eternal memory to the fallen," wrote the wife of the deceased. The military was buried in the village of Syniava, Kyiv region. At home in Valeriy, his wife Inna and daughter Lika were waiting.
