Valerii M. Hiliavskyi

Hilyavskyi Valerii Mykhailovych was born on December 24, 1964, in Cherkasy region. In 2017, he signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine and actively participated in combat operations in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. During the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he held the position of a shooter-assistant grenade launcher in the mechanized company of the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Black Zaporizhzhia. He was killed on March 2, 2022, during fierce battles on the outskirts of Kyiv from multiple gunshot wounds. He is buried in the city of Smila, Cherkasy region.
