Valerii M. Hurskyi (Hura)

Senior soldier Valeriy Hursky (call sign Hura) was killed on October 1, 2022, while performing a combat mission near the village of Kolodyazi in the Donetsk region. The warrior did not live for 4 days until his 38th birthday. Valeriy was born in the village of Slobidka-Krasylivska in the Khmelnytskyi region. He stu at the Starokostiantyniv Vocational Technical School, where he obtained the profession of a car repair mechanic. He worked as a builder. He loved to paint. He lived an active and fulfilling life. He had many plans and dreams. He created a family with whom he lived in the Cherkasy region. During the full-scale Russian invasion, he joined the airborne assault troops to defend his homeland. He held the position of senior gunner of the grenade launcher platoon of the 25th Separate Airborne Brigade. "Valeriy was a patriot of our Motherland; he loved it very much and gave his life for it," noted the wife of the fallen. Valeriy was buried in the village of Vyazivok in the Cherkasy region. He is survived by his mother Sofia, wife Alona, and son Artem.
