Valerii O. Bezkrovnyi

Valeriy Olexandrovich Bezkrovny was born on June 12, 1977, in the village of Velyka Yablunivka, Cherkasy region. In February 2022, Sergeant Valeriy Bezkrovny was called up for mobilization to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. He honorably and with dignity took up the defense of his homeland against the military aggression of the Russian Federation. He diligently fulfilled his duties and assigned tasks. He repeatedly demonstrated personal courage and bravery while carrying out combat missions. On May 15, 2022, in the area of the village of Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, the unit that Valeriy was part of engaged in battle with superior enemy forces, reinforced with armored vehicles. At 15:00, the enemy began a tank shelling of the defensive positions of the Ukrainian defenders. During another shelling, Valeriy Bezkrovny sustained shrapnel wounds incompatible with life. For personal courage and selfless actions displayed in defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and loyalty to the military oath, Sergeant Valeriy Olexandrovich Bezkrovny was posthumously awarded the Order of "For Courage" III degree.
