Valerii R. Honcharenko (Lisnyk)

Soldier Valerii Honcharenko (call sign Lisnyk) was killed on October 22, 2022, while performing a combat mission near the settlement of Bilohirivka in the Luhansk region. The warrior turned 21 in September. Valerii was born in the village of Senkove, Kharkiv region. He graduated from the Chuhuiv-Babchansk Forestry College. He loved nature and was interested in music. He worked in the forestry, holding the position of a forest master. He had many plans for life and dreamed of a peaceful future. During the full-scale war, the young man fought for his native country in the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine. He was a grenadier in the 14th Operational Purpose Brigade named after Ivan Bohun. "The best boy in the world. Sensitive, kind, fair, cheerful, he always protected his family and helped the weaker ones," said the mother of the fallen Olena. The warrior was buried in the Alley of Glory of cemetery No. 18 in Kharkiv. Valerii is survived by his mother and sister. Posthumously, Soldier Valerii Honcharenko was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
