Biography
Romanovsky Valery Stanislavovich was born on June 26, 1976. In 1998, he graduated from the H. S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University with a degree in "Ukrainian Language and Literature and History". He was a student of Professor Vasyl Bilotserkivskyi and also attended his student history circle during his studies. He continued his education in postgraduate studies, at the Department of Ukrainian History at the same university. In 2007, he defended his dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Historical Sciences on the topic "Development of Monument Studies in the Kharkiv Region in the 19th - early 20th centuries" under the scientific supervision of Vasyl Bilotserkivskyi. In 2008, Valery Romanovsky was awarded the corresponding academic degree. From 2007 to 2020, he worked at the Kharkiv State Academy of Culture. In 2020-2022, he worked at the V. G. Korolenko Kharkiv State Scientific Library. He was a member of the Kharkiv Historical and Philological Society. In 2014, he volunteered to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a private in the Luhansk region in 2014-2015. He was demobilized in 2015. On February 25, 2022, he went to the front as part of the Territorial Defense Forces, serving as a senior rifleman-machine gunner. In late August 2022, he was seriously wounded in the Kupiansk direction. He died on January 16, 2023, as a result of his severe injuries after several months in a coma. On January 20, 2023, Valery Romanovsky was buried with military honors on the Alley of Heroes at the 18th Cemetery in Kharkiv.Burial place
