Valerii V. Chornyi

Senior soldier Valeriy Chornyi was killed on October 15, 2023, defending the Bakhmut direction. Near the village of Klishchiyivka, he received a fatal shrapnel wound during an enemy artillery barrage. The warrior remained forever 24 years old. Valeriy was from the village of Kamianyi Most, Kirovohrad region. He lived in Kropyvnytskyi. He graduated from Kirovohrad Higher Vocational School No. 4, where he obtained the specialty of a wide-profile machine operator, CNC machine operator. He worked at the Chervona Zirka plant and the Sokolivskyi meat processing plant. After being drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine, he immediately signed a contract. During the full-scale Russian invasion, Valeriy fought for Ukraine in the ranks of the 80th separate air assault brigade. Together with his comrades-in-arms, he carried out combat missions in the hottest areas of the front. "We will never be able to accept and believe that you are no longer with us, this pain will be with us all our lives. You never feared anything, courage is about you. You did everything for us and the country. You will always be alive in our hearts," say his relatives and friends. The paratrooper was buried in Novomyrhorod, Kirovohrad region. Valeriy is survived by his mother, sister, nephew, relatives, close friends, and comrades-in-arms. Senior soldier Valeriy Chornyi was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage III degree.
