- Senior soldier Valeriy Subbotin (call sign Taxi) was killed on August 29, 2022, in a battle with the occupiers near the village of Zaitseve in Donetsk region. The warrior received fatal injuries during the enemy's artillery shelling. In July, the defender turned 40 years old. Valeriy was born in Dnipropetrovsk region. He graduated from Kharkiv State University of Food and Trade with a degree in International Economics. He held the position of store manager. He was fond of cars. During the full-scale war, Valeriy fought against the occupiers as part of the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Vladimir Monomakh. He was a sniper shooter. "Valeriy was a lively, sincere, brave, reliable and faithful man, friend and the best dad in the world! He was our Star, an example for many," said the fighter's wife Yuliia. "Valeriy was called up for mobilization back in early March. He served in a motorized infantry battalion of one of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During the defense of the Motherland, he showed endurance and courage. Every loss for the city is like a personal pain... It's hard to find words that would heal the wound... We share this pain with the relatives and friends of the deceased, comrades. A low bow to our Hero who gave his life for the sake of Ukraine, its freedom and independence. We will not forget! Eternal memory and glory to the Warrior!" - noted in Sinelnikivska city council. The defender was buried on the Alley of Glory in the city of Sinelnikove in Dnipropetrovsk region. At home, Valeriy's wife and daughter were waiting for him.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
