Vasyl I. Kozar

Senior soldier Vasyl Kozar was killed on August 5, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission in the Kharkiv region. The defender was 50 years old. Vasyl was from the village of Zaluzhzhia in the Zakarpattia region. He lived in the village of Vilshane in the Chernihiv region. In 1991-1993, he served his compulsory military service. He was married and raised two sons. He dreamed of living in a free country and waiting for his grandchildren. At the beginning of the full-scale war, on February 27, 2022, the man was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as an operator in the 4th separate rifle battalion. He carried out combat missions in various directions of the front. "We deeply sympathize with the family of the Hero. May the Lord God help you to bear this heavy loss. He defended his country, his people, his land. Deep bow and gratitude to Vasyl. Eternal memory and glory to the Hero!" - noted in the Sosnytsia community. The warrior was buried in the village of Vilshane in the Chernihiv region. Vasyl is survived by his wife, two sons, relatives, and friends.
