Vasyl I. Kucheriavenko

Soldier Vasyl Kucheriavenko was killedon February 24, 2023 in battle with the occupiers in the area of the village of Zaliznyanskе in the Donetsk region. On March 5, the defender would have turned 49 years old. Vasyl was born in the village of Kamyanka, Sumy region. He graduated from the Chuhuiv-Babchansk Forestry College. He worked in the forestry industry since 2003. At first he was a logger, and then - an assistant forester in the Kamyanske forestry branch of the "Svesske Forestry". During his work, he became a true professional in his field. In 2019 and 2022, he was awarded a letter of gratitude from the Chairman of the Forestry Society of Ukraine and a letter of gratitude from the Head of the Sumy Regional Department of Forestry and Hunting. In his free time, he loved to work with beekeeping. He was married and raised two children. On the first day of the full-scale war, on February 24, 2022, the man joined the ranks of the defenders. He joined the 117th separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of a rifleman-assistant grenadier. "Beloved husband, loving father, good master, hardworking person," said the wife of the deceased Inna. "Vasyl proved himself to be a capable, responsible employee who was a true example of courage and patriotism for us," his colleagues remember him. "Vasya was a very decent, sensitive person. Glory to the Hero! We will never forget! We will never forgive!" wrote his acquaintance Svitlana Kryvenok. The serviceman was buried in his native village. At home, Vasyl was awaited by his parents, wife, son and daughter.
