Vasyl I. Oleksiuk (Sidyi)

Soldier Vasyl Oleksyuk was killed on January 21, 2023 in battle with the occupiers in the area of the settlement of Blahodatne in the Donetsk region. He was 50 years old. Vasyl was born in the village of Havrylivka, Ivano-Frankivsk region. He graduated from a construction college. He was a hard worker and could do everything. He always helped everyone. He lived with his family in the Kharkiv region. He kept his own apiary and was passionate about beekeeping. He had land on which he grew grain. With the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, the man decided to defend his native country. On February 27, he joined the ranks of the 113th separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He took the position of a driver. "He was always a patriot, so he went to the Territorial Defense Forces almost from the first days of the war. Despite the fact that in peacetime his profession as a farmer was also important, he considered it his duty to protect his home and his land, which he loved so much. In early December, he had a 10-day vacation. When he came back, he prepared everything for sowing and went back to the front line. And he returned as a hero in heaven, our angel. A brave hero," said the wife of the fallen Lyudmyla. The defender was buried in the village of Novonadezhyne in the Kharkiv region. At home in Vasyl, his wife, son and daughter were waiting for him.
