Vasyl I. Palko

Sergeant Vasyl Palko was killed on May 11, 2024, from fatal injuries sustained as a result of a drone grenade drop near the village of Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region. The defender was 37 years old. Vasyl was from the city of Svaliava, Zakarpattia region. In 2006, he graduated from the Kamianets-Podilskyi Professional College of Industry, Business and Information Technologies. He worked at LLC "FORTUNA-NOBIS". He lived with his family in Kyiv. During the full-scale invasion, on June 27, 2023, he was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Yakov Handziuk. "Vasyl's greatest value was his family, we were never sad as a trio, we spent all our free time together... His main motivation for service was primarily the protection of his family, a happy future in a free Ukraine. Vasyl sometimes told me: 'You will never be ashamed of me,'" said his wife Viktoria. The warrior was buried in Kyiv. Vasyl is survived by his daughter, wife, mother, and sister.
