Vasyl I. Sobestyian (Sova)

49-year-old Vasyl Sobestyanyan (call sign Sova) was killed in action on June 16, 2022, near the city of Izyum. He was a fighter of the 49th separate rifle battalion "Carpathian Sich". In peacetime, Vasyl worked as a builder. He loved to read books and watch documentaries. After February 24, 2022, the man could not stay at home. He went to serve in the then volunteer battalion "ODCH Carpathian Sich". Without military experience, he underwent combat training directly in the war. He participated in the liberation of Bucha, Irpin, and Hostomel from Russian occupiers. The military man in battle as a result of a mine-explosive injury. "My Dad was an extremely sincere and kind person. He always took care of and supported me and my children. He loved us boundlessly and lived for us! He spared nothing for us. Friendly, cheerful, caring, the soul of the company! He always responded to problems. When the war came, he couldn't sit and watch the atrocities committed by the Muscovites against the Ukrainian people. He went to the ODCH "Carpathian Sich" as a volunteer. The fighter was buried in his native village of Yakivka in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. Vasyl Sobestyanyan left behind a brother, two sisters, a daughter, a son-in-law, and two grandchildren.
