- Senior soldier Vasyl Boychuk was killed on September 14, 2022, in a battle with the occupiers near the village of Veremiivka in the Kherson region. He was 36 years old. Vasyl was born in the village of Lazeshchyna in the Zakarpattia region. He attended a local school. He lived and worked in his native village. In his free time, he loved fishing and hiking in the mountains. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Vasyl voluntarily went to the military enlistment office to defend Ukraine. On March 1, he was enlisted in the ranks of the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Within 5 days, he was already defending the Zaporizhzhia region. In July, during a missile strike, he sustained a shrapnel wound. He refused treatment due to his desire to return to his comrades, who continued offensive battles against the enemy. Later, his unit was redeployed to the Kherson region. On September 11, 2022, Vasyl last contacted his family. Three days later, he was killed. Due to heavy fighting in that area, his comrades were only able to retrieve his body on October 8. was killed “Vasyl loved his life very much...
