Vasyl M. Fok

Sergeant Vasyl Fok (call sign Fox) died on September 11, 2024 in a battle with Russian invaders near the village of Orikho-Vasylkivka in the Donetsk region. He was 28 years old. Vasyl was born in the village of Medenychi, Lviv region. He studied at the Medenychi Secondary School. He then graduated from the Medenychi Agrarian and Technological Vocational College. In peacetime, he went abroad to work. He was fond of sports and played football. In 2020, he got married, and the couple had a son named Denys, whom he adored. In November 2023, the man was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo. He held the position of a grenade launcher. "He went to protect his Homeland, so that we could live in a free Ukraine and so that his son would not see the war," said the wife of the fallen, Mariana. Vasyl was buried in his native village. He is survived by his parents, wife, and son.
