Vasyl M. Horan

Senior soldier Vasyl Goran was killed on August 31, 2022 near the village of Maksymivka in Mykolaiv region. While carrying out a combat mission, the soldier was blown up by an enemy mine. The defender was 44 years old. Vasyl Goran was born in the city of Rakhiv, Zakarpattia region. He stu at the local secondary school No. 1. He worked in various professions: he was an electrician, mechanic and builder. He loved nature very much and tried to spend his free time with his family in the mountains. With the start of the full-scale war, the man without hesitation joined the ranks of the defenders and went to the front. He served in the 105th battalion of the 63rd separate mechanized brigade. Together with his comrades-in-arms, he defended the Mykolaiv region in the Kherson direction. "Vasyl was a true warrior, a patriot, an example of indomitability and strength of spirit! Everyone remembered him as a man of his word, courageous, straightforward and fair," said his relative Maria. "Strong in spirit, reliable, always ready to help, with boundless faith in Ukraine's victory - this is how Rakhivshchyna will remember him. We express our sincere condolences to the family, relatives, loved ones and friends on the death of our fellow countryman. We mourn with you and support you in this difficult time," said the Rakhiv City Council. The warrior was buried in his hometown. At home, Vasyl was awaited by his mother, wife, daughters and a large family.
