Vasyl M. Horobets (Demon)

36-year-old soldier Vasyl Horobets (call sign Demon) was killed from multiple shrapnel wounds on June 11, 2023 near the village of Novodanilivka in the Zaporizhzhia region. The defender was born in the village of Myklashi in the Khmilnytskyi region. Until 2001, he studied at the Myklashivska secondary school, and in 2003 he graduated from the Sushovets school. He then enrolled in the Kyiv Medical College named after P.I. Havrosya. He received a diploma in the specialty "Medical Business". After serving in the army, he worked as a paramedic at the Myklashivskyi FAP. Later, he took a job as a master of the cheese workshop at LLC "Bilohorya Molokoprodukt". He was engaged in sports, loved nature and animals. He dreamed of seeing the ocean. On February 24, 2022, he voluntarily joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At first, he served in the Bilohorsk Territorial Defense, and from August 2023 he defended the Motherland as part of the 25th separate assault battalion. He held the position of combat medic of the 1st assault company. For his service, he received a commendation from the command for diligence and reasonable initiative. The defender was buried in his native village. Vasyl is survived by his mother and sister.
