Vasyl M. Petryshyn

25-year-old Sergeant Vasyl Petryshyn was killed on July 8, 2023, near the village of Mala Tokmachka in the Zaporizhzhia region. During the performance of a combat mission, he received fatal injuries as a result of enemy artillery shelling. Vasyl was born in the village of Zadvir'ya in the Lviv region. He studied at a rural school. He then obtained the profession of plasterer, painter, and tiler at the Stavropihiian Vocational School. He worked as a 2nd class fitter at the LLC "NVP ELECTRON-T" company. He loved football and engaged in it during his free time. He was always able to lift people's spirits. He had many friends and was loved and respected in his company. During the full-scale war, Vasyl defended his native country in the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine. He was a machine gunner in the reconnaissance platoon of a special military unit. "My brother is the best person I have ever met. Kind, hardworking, always ready to help, support, and cheer up. When the full-scale war began, he gathered his things and went to his unit. You are forever in my heart. I love you very much..." - wrote the sister of the fallen Marychka. The defender was buried in his native village. At home, Vasyl was awaited by his mother, two sisters, and two brothers.
